Netherlands Schools

A term used to refer to unique styles of composition associated with specific composers within the Burgundian School. Three Netherlands Schools have been identified, with Guillaume Dufay (c. 1400-1474) heading the first school, Johannes Ockeghem (c. 1420-1497) and Jacob Obrecht (c. 1450-1505) heading the second and Josquin Desprez (c. 1440-1521) heading the third.
