Percussive Arts Society

[English]

The Percussive Arts Society (PAS) was established in 1961 as a non-profit, music service organization. The organization promotes percussion education, research, performance and appreciation with numerous chapters throughout the world. When the National Association of Rudimental Drummers ceased operations in 1978, the Percussive Arts Society became the world's largest percussion organization and is currently considered the central source for information and networking for percussion and drum musicians.

The organization hosts the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC), featuring concerts, clinics, master classes, labs, workshops, panels and presentations by the most influential percussion performers from around the world. This event also includes an area with percussion related manufacturers, publishers and organizations exhibiting and demonstrating the latest percussion instruments, sticks and mallets, accessories, music, and related products and services.

Headquartered in Lawton, Oklahoma, they also house their Percussive Arts Museum and Library, which contain rare and unusual percussion instruments and scores. They can be found online at http://www.pas.org/
