bongo drums
[English]
A pair of permanently attached small single-headed drums the larger of which is tuned about fifth below the smaller drum. The bongo drums are of Afro-Cuban origin and are widely used in the popular music of Latin America. The bongo drums were widely popular among the beatnik culture of the 1950's in America.
