chordal declamation

[English]

A method of setting text or words to music where the text of a composition is emphasized by chordal structures. The composer will usually create a homorhythmic feel in the underlying chordal structure of the music to match the syllabic nature of the text. This reflects the Italian taste of the 15th century.
